 | Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Nivard Cabraal, Sri Lanka’s central bank governor, talks with Bloomberg's Maryam Nemazee about the country's investment climate and the arrest of the opposition candidate defeated in last month's presidential election. The Defense Ministry said yesterday General Sarath Fonseka had been arrested on military offenses. Fonseka, who fell out with President Mahinda Rajapaksa after he was moved to a ceremonial post, commanded the army when it defeated the Tamil Tiger separatists in May to end a 30-year conflict. |
